This article explores the General History of Peru or Second Part of the Royal Commentaries in its different parts, which include a first section until the battle of Chupas, that is, the conquest itself, and then the events of the civil wars that determine a change progressive towards the establishment of the colonial system. In this sense, the HGP is also a reflection of the life of the Inca Garcilaso, who was present in many of the events narrated between the decades of 1540 and 1550, witnessing how the Crown imposed its power on the encomenderos.
