Para escuchar dos cantos: Mistral y Santa Cruz y sus otras maneras de caminar inciertos territorios
Keywords:
Chilean poetry and narrative, Gabriela Mistral, Guadalupe Santa Cruz, usufruct vs. property, social justice, geography and corpus, landscape and territoryAbstract
This is an exploration of Gabriela Mistral’s and Guadalupe Santa Cruz’s works in general, and particularly, of the books Poema de Chile (1967) and Esta parcela (2015). A parcel alludes to the territory from a juridical point of view, but also to the affect one has toward a specific piece of land. It has juridical and affective connotations within their respective works. In this respect, both authors draw a trajectory through the Chilean geography, from a transversal point of view in Santa Cruz’s postmodern Quebradas and Plasma, and through a detailed archive of its biological characteristics, imagined and experienced by Mistral’s poetic voice: birds, minerals, plants when experienced by walking its geographical premises.
