One of the most outstanding characteristics of Trilce is the use of a language expressed in terms of “conflict.” This dynamic can be seen in its attitude of rejection of the comfort of a universe governed by traditional “harmony.” Thus, Vallejo portrays imperfect scenarios, prone to “dispute” between antagonistic forces that configure the dimension of the terciario (or impar), that is, that which lacks “symmetry” because it exalts incompleteness in a world agitated by antithetical confrontations. In this vein, in En la masmédula, Oliverio Girondo submits language to a process that combines words to model an absolute amalgam materialized in a “total full mixture.” Therefore, analyze these two books to illustrate a development that goes from Vallejo’s antitheses to the synthetic fullness produced by the “mixed” words of the Argentine poet.
