Abstract

This article puts forth some ideas on José María Arguedas ethnographic experience. Narration, a theme much explored in literature, can in this case transfer to anthropological writing, and move beyond the dichotomy between literature and ethnography, which has sometimes deceived analysts from both disciplines. This author suggests that Arguedas’ writings suggest the need to further explore the different levels of his work beyond disciplinary boundaries.
