El zorro de arriba y el zorro de abajo and the new way of writing novels

Abstract

This article proposes that El zorro de arriba y el zorro de abajo by José María Arguedas constitutes a break with the classic way of writing novels. We analyze the transfer and incorporation of cultural codes from Andean Quechua orality into the novel structure and how this interpenetration of different cultural worlds gives rise to a new form of novel writing.
