This paper studies how the Philippine Islands were involved into the Western tradition exploring a particular case, the presence of Saint Jerome in Philippine Literature. We will focus in two particular aspects: firstly, Jerome’s doctrine in the Baroque Literature written in the Archipelago, and, secondly, his image transmitted to Tagalog and vernacular literature and romances.
