El símbolo como máscara incestuosa: literalidad y alegoría en Libro de Ruth de Gilberto Owen. Apuntes para un estado de la crítica
Keywords:
Gilberto Owen, Book of Ruth, literalness, symbol, allegoryAbstract
In this article, I analyze Gilbert Owen’s Book of Ruth, emphasizing the fact that the criticism of this poet is divided into two: one, dedicated to pointing out the inextricable relationship between Owen’s life and work; and another, more interested in pointing out the strictly literary mechanisms of self-representation. My objective is to understand Book of Ruth as an inescapable reference of these two analytical-critical paradigms, as well as to mediate between these two reading horizons.
