La novela latinoamericana frente al espejo: el caso de tres ensayos (Donoso, Fuentes y Volpi)

This article proposes a diachronical reading of three essays written by Latin American authors of different generations: Historia personal del boom (1972) by José Donoso, El insomnio de Bolívar (2009) by Jorge Volpi, and La gran novela latinoamericana (2011) by Carlos Fuentes. In this way, we will bring out the constitution of a narration presented by various generations, that would go from the appearance of a Latin American novel to its internationalization. Said narration presents, according to the three writers, tensions, hiatuses, and paradoxes during its evolution, which we will intend to underline in order to better understand the strategies of the diverse (and recognised) lettered agents to legitimize themselves in a panorama that is in full expansion such as is the Latin American one.
