Las artes poéticas en la poesía de Roberto Fernández Retamar

Abstract

"This essay examines poems of Roberto Fernández Retamar where he reflects on the role of the poet and poetry in intrinsic relation to a historical consciousness. This poetry is attentive to the events of the past and present. It considers that the economy of the language is essential to express what is important in life. This poetry comes from everyday life, thus participates in a new moment of Latin American poetry. In this essay, the author not only uses textual analysis, but also considers categories that emerge from the poetic thought and literary criticism of Fernández Retamar to study the poems."
