Abstract

This paper analyzes the participation of the Chinese in the development of firms in the transit area of the Isthmus of Panama during the nineteenth century (Railroad Co. and French Canal) and their inclusion in the Panamanian republican social life throughout the twentieth century, through inquiry into literature as a discursive practice.
