Abstract

This work focuses on the particular concept that Simón Rodríguez has of the printing press. Starting from the methodological proposal of Pedro Grases, I consider two aspects of analysis: his opinion on the freedom to print and his proposal to use Gutemberg’s art. I focus my research on the third appearance of the American Societies in 1828, that is, in Chile around 1840.
