El nacimiento de la novela indígena y el rechazo a la integración eurocéntrica

This article examines two bilingual indigenous novels that mark an apogee in the production of the novel in Zapotec and Mayan communities. It frames the discursive relationship of these texts in the development of the genre in Latin America and its radical difference represented in its linguistic, cultural, and political articulation. I show how these texts unmask the deleterious effects of Eurocentrism in the discourses of education and the process of electoral votes. Finally, I argue that both texts propose an intellectual and political autonomy that is emerging within their communities.
