Abstract

The Inca Garcilaso de la Vega turns into the main character of Mujica Láinez's, Loayza's and Vega Jácome' s short stories, as well as in the novels of Gutiérrez and Carrillo. This article's main focus is to consider the development that occurs during the treatment of the half-breed identity, the common denominator in these fictions, throughout the years from the publication of Manuel Mujica Láinez's story (1934) to the one of Selenco Vega Jácome (2007), and to relate it to the so called "garcilasist paradigm", closely related with the biographic studies.
