Poética del fracaso. Dos textos inéditos de Julio Ramón Ribeyro

Abstract

"Fiction and essays of Julio Ramon Ribeyro have already been properly published and studied. They constitute a collection of prose of various kinds and unquestionable literary quality: they are already part of the canon of the 20th Latin American literature. However, there are new texts that were never published by the author due to his untimely death in 1994. This article discovers two of them: a short story and a “prosa apátrida” that describe some of the Peruvian writer’s obsessions: the marginal status of the author and his characters, and his relationship with the world of smokers, widely narrated in Sólo para fumadores."
