La voz de la plebe. Emergencias en el Río de la Plata Colonial (Siglo XVI)
Keywords:
plebs, voices, lawsuits, Jaime RasquinAbstract
Departing from the judicial lawsuits that took place during the sixteenth century in relation to the conquest of the Río de la Plata, this article focuses on the presence of the voices of the plebs, individual subjects who are summoned as bearers of a truth that in general lines comes to question the actions of the figure of maximum power in that portion of America, the Adelantado. In this case, I will work with the trial brought by the Council of the Indies against Jaime Rasquin and his unsuccessful expedition. The proposal is to question those voices, their speeches, their conditions of possibility and emergency, as well as their respective restrictions.
